I know this post should go in Off Topic but the last post in this area was APRIL 20!!! That's too long:)
Have a great long weekend! We're starting our weekend in 12 minutes-no big plans other than a ballgame and a hotrod show. Maybe a movie - saw Star Trek last weekend - it was darn good. What's on your schedule?
Happy Memorial Day to all! No more work until Tuesday! LOTS of yard work to do. Three picnics,Memorial Day service at our church cemetary and Katie will be playing her flute with an adult band on Monday evening. Busy but nice weekend planned!
My son is getting married Saturday in Philadelphia right across the street from Independence Hall. The location is the eleventh floor of a 100 year old office building of a publishing company. There is a catering venue up there. From the room where dessert is served, you look down on the spire of the old hall. We have permission to take photos before the wedding in a downtown garden.
We haven't even thought about Monday-been too busy!!!
No BIG plans. I promised Bill I would help him paint one of his JD tractors, I am better with the spray gun than he is. He is not a painter. I am also planning on putting a little cedar fence around the shrubbery. Very scenic. I sent Wil out this afternoon to find some cedar trees on the place. Good Luck! I have one large cedar right in front of my shop but I REFUSE to cut it down. Kinda Christmassey. Think I may smoke some babybacks on Monday, raise the flag and sing the Marine Corps Hymn!

We're having a garage sale. We are going to have burgers, potato salad and baked beans and my blue ribbon Pineapple Nut Cake. I hope to finish a book I've started. Three of us girls at work have been passing around James Patterson series and I have two of the books right now, so I'm behind. I want to finish a large cross stitch that I've been working off and on for the past 3 years. All I have to do is sew the buttons on, 20 or more of them! Oh, and I always have an unfinished basket. Well, I could go on and on. We also go to the graveyard. Makes me sad to see my Mom's name carved in stone. Have a good week-end!
We smoked some babyback ribs. Peach pickles, coleslaw, baked beans and potato salad with french bread, iced tea and lemonade. Made a German chocloate cake, too. I'm still full.
Sounds good to me! What are peach pickles? We make banana pickles-no bananas! It is a sweet pickle using large cucumbers(chunked),onions, spices, vinegar and sugar. They are similar to a bread and butter pickle-we all like them.
You can use fresh or canned peaches--I use halves. Add water or peach juice to cover peaches. Add sugar or brown sugar, vinegar and spices--I sprinkle in pumpkin pie spice. You can make them as sweet and spicy or as tangy as you wish. Bring everything to a boil, spoon into canning jars and seal. Keep in refrigerator or process in a water bath. We love them.
Margaret I missed your question some how. Anyway, I've been trading books with the girls at work and I'm reading the Murder Club Series. I finished the second book last week-end and I've started on the third. The girls tell me there are 8 in this series. I had never read his works before. I really like it. I think it's the short chapters. I can always get in another chapter when I only have a few minutes. I haven't done much reading in the past because I'm always doing something with my hands when I do have free time.
