Update from Maine

I haven't posted here in a LONG time, but thought I'd catch up on what's been going on with me...
As some of you know, my husband and I divorced almost 2 and a half years ago and things have been pretty rough for me ever since.... not complaining, but I've learned a lot about what I'm really made of, and I'm one pretty tough cookie! Well, this winter I met a wonderful man who lives near Gloucester, MA... like me he is an artist and a craftsman and we share so many common interests. About a month ago he asked me to marry him... needless to say I said YES! We haven't set a date yet, but I am in the process of gearing up for a move out of Maine and back to the state I called home most of my life. The only hard part will be watching my son, Dylan, finally leaving the nest. He has his own life here and wants to get his own apartment and stay. At least he won't have to worry about furniture.... or DISHES! LOL
Part of the process of marrying two households together is figuring out what stays and what goes. My dishes trump his, that's for sure... but I have so much America packed away in boxes still that I need to find homes for, and now it's even more urgent that I do that since space will be limited. I'm going to update my "America for Sale" list on here and adjust prices (not much of a chance I'm going to recover what I paid for it, that's for sure!) and add/subtract a few things. I'll get to that after I post this.
Hope everyone is doing well.... miss the comaraderie that brought us all together with our shared love of our America!

So glad to hear from you and see that you have again found happiness! That is so wonderful! I wish you all the best and will check your list! It looks like the club is gone and we are all on our own-hopefully many are still enjoying their"America" as I will sure continue to do! Have a wonderful life!

I had a pretty good idea the club was on it's way out... I resigned from my board position and then didn't hear anything more which is fine... there was no reason to keep me updated. It was sad, but people have so much else going on these days with the economy and their own problems that the dishes really did take a back seat for most of us. I still love my America and despite cleaning out all but the things I use often I'll still have a full hutch!

Eileen, I am so glad to hear your good news. I will miss the PACC, but unfortunately things do change. I use my America everyday and still love it. I treasure the friendships that I have made through the club. I will check your list of sale items. I have a lot of items I have purchased from you in the past, and I especially love the items you have painted that I own. I wish you all the very best, and I do hope that people will continue to post on this site so that we can keep in touch.

So nice to hear good news. As an artist and crafts person myself, I'm glad that you found a kindred spirit! I, too will check the list. I really miss the board, even Christine's PFG board has been relatively quiet. I still check them every day

Happy to hear your great news!! I went through the same thing 11 years ago. I have the most wonderful husband now, I also learned so much about myself and life in general. I do miss everyone and reading all the posts/ I still have a large collection.
