For Sale: 3 books with connections to the Bird of Paradise Quilt/America dishes

Hello!  Sue here with three books that maybe a fellow America collector might want.  If there is no interest, I will be posting the books on ebay.

Some of you may recall me as the Member Profile writer for The America Messenger, the PACC newsletter for several years.  I'm still enjoying my America dishes, the decorating central theme of my house.

I'm in the process of decluttering my house, to simplify.  I am visually impaired, these books make it hard to read without magnification.  I enjoyed these when I got them,  Used my trusty magnifier to read and get the details, but they've sat on my bookshelf.

I will provide the details and cost/ship below and leave my email addy if you are interested.  If I don't hear from anyone within a couple of weeks, I will be putting these on ebay,

My addy is  tracyezra@gmail.com.  Please put a notation in the subject heading of your interest in the book.  I generally delete those emails without subject headings, to be on the safe side.

Books

1.  Classic Songs of America   A variety of songs ranging from favorite folk songs, hymns, spirituals, patriotic songs, barbershop ballads, work songs) are set to arangements for the piano, guitar, and electric keyboard by Dan Fox.  Illustrations are provided by the Museum of American Folk Art, where the BOP is housed.  The BOP is on the front cover of this paperback book.   It's a pretty "kewl" book and I've enjoyed browsing thru it.

Condition:  Good.  Price:  $5.   Shipping:  $4-5...Media Mail + envelope expense

***************

2.  American Quilts:    A Sampler of Quilts and Their Stories     by Jennifer Regan

The back of the cover gives this summary:  "AMERICAN QUILTS brings together a sampler of of quilts that are especially significant for the stories they tell about individual women as well as women as a group.  Compiled by Jennifer Regan, it gives new insights into the relevance of quilt making in the lives of American women."

The BOP has several pages devoted to the unique history of the BOP as well as other gorgeous and stunning quilts.

Hardback with the dustcover..little bit frayed on the edges.  Good condition.  I used it very little.

Price: $10      Ship:  $4-5 Media mail + envelope expense

3.  Mattie Lou O'Kelley   Folk Artist    This book was put together by Mattie herself.  Unique book of folk art designs, much in the style of Grandma MOses/Will Moses.  Mattie, as you know, is the beloved artist of the famous Thanksgiving dinner using America dishes in her painting.  Yes, there is a copy of that famous print that so many of us have hanging in our home.

The book itself is in good condition.  The dust jacket, sad to say, came to me, via ebay, torn..which I've taped.  The book binding edges shows wear.  The contents, tho..are in good condition, showing the many, many folk art paintings that Mattie did in her lifetime.  Absolutely awesome, the simplicity of, yet detailed paintings that tell a story to each of them..

I've enjoyed this book immensely..looking through.  However, its time to share with someone else to enjoy.

Price:  $7    Ship:  $4-5 (Meida Mail + envelope expense)

Email me with any questions.  I'm more than happy to combine chipping.  If there is no interest after Feb. 10, I will put these up for ebay.

My email is:

tracyezra@gmail.com

Hope all of you are well!
