Question of the Week ~ 03/24/09

Debbie D. wants to know if Pfz had offered an America piece in the miniature collection, which piece would you prefer?

Hmmm, well, I'd say a plate or charger but since PACC has their own version, that's out.  How about a mini fruit mold?  hehehe - that's the only way I'd get one.  That picture at the top of the page reminds me daily that I don't have one.

I agree with the colored fruit mold-I will never have one either! Many of the pieces would be adorable in miniature!

I'd really like the Teapot in miniature even though it's not part of the original America.  I also think the garlic piece would be cute in miniature.  I agree that the fruit mold would be nice and like everyone else, that would be the only way for me to get one.

I agree, the colored fruit mold would make a beautiful miniature as would the teapot.  Deb, not to twist the knife, but I do have a colored fruit mold!  I know it is not the same, but I do offer both the teapot and the fruitmold as ornaments.  See below.  Debbie D.--this site is much easier to post to.  Don't follow the directions in the past newsletters.  It is just like posting to eBay.  Maybe Laura would write us a new article on posting!!

Well, I DO have a fruit mold, don't I?  Actually, I have two.  One plain one from Pfaltzgraff, one beautifully painted ornament by Miz M.

Girl, I gotta take a pic of my Pfz tree and send it to you.  Bud has it completely stripped of ornaments from about half-way down and the branches are pointing to the floor.  I caught him chewing on one of the branches the other day.  I guess it's like kitty floss.  Little stinker.

I could tell by the look in his eyes he would be a handful!  I would be thrilled to post some of my old go-alongs for our newer members.  Always happy to add to the go-along collection since we can't get the real thing anymore!  Had to go a long way back for some of these pictures.  If you "need" something-email me at :
nunnery8@bellsouth.net for more info.

Hey, what's the third item down on the right side with the star pattern? Inquiring minds want to know.

I made a set of Four Ohio Star placemats.  I sponged the designs and then hand quilted them.  I made napkins and napkin rings to match.  I am debating on donating them to the auction--that was their initial purpose.  We may make something very similar at the Convention.  It is very easy ( and fast) to work on fabric.  Thanks for asking.  I think you have most of this stuff on the ornament tree that Bud manicures for you!

Hey Margaret!  I may have to have you do me a pepper grinder.  If I pick one up, do I need any particular wood or anything that's easy for you to paint.  I like those baby salt and peppers also.  If i buy a Pfaltzgraff piggy bank, would you paint it for me also?
I've forgotten, are the chargers and plates wood?  Were they ornaments?

The pepper grinder is one of my favorites--it looks good and is very useful!  I bought several sets from ebay.  I particularly like the shape of this set.  If you want, I will find a set for you and you can take it home from convention.  I might even make one for the auction!  The chargers and the dinner plates are ornaments and they are wooden.  The chargers are appx. 3" and the plates are about 2.5".  I think my favorite ornaments are the glass ball ornaments, though.  I would be thrilled to paint your piggy bank--or anything else that needs painting!

Janyce, I took a picture of a set that I intend to paint for myself.  I love fresh pepper on almost all my food!  This is the basic shape that looks like out America and like I said, there are some of all sizes on eBay.

That looks fine!  Just as long as the grinder works good because it will be used a lot!
Thanks so much Margaret!
