Happy Birthday, America!

Big plans for the weekend?

Burgers at Mom's then a ball game and fireworks at Springfield Saturday night for us.  Three whole days of no work - bliss:)

I don't know about BIG plans but I am going to smoke both a pork roast and a beef roast for BBQ-served with all the trimmings. We are also going to have watermelon lemonade. I think I shared the recipe last 4th of July! Puree some red, ripe watermelon and add to a pitcher of pink lemonade and serve with chunky watermelon "sticks". Very festive-specially for the kids!

I don't remember the lemonade recipe, but it sounds great and fun! I may have to try that! We have a pretty quiet weekend-but that could change anytime! We will have a picnic Sat. and go to local fireworks in the evening. I am sure we will be working on the Corvette-it is being painted as we speak! Lots of work to put it all back together and clean it really well! Katie is also here and has a friend coming to swim tomorrow. She has decided it is fun to have a vacation from Mom and Dad off and on for the past two weeks! Have a wonderful, safe 4th of July weekend!

Margaret, sounds yummy!! I'm picking up dad from his facility at 11 and we will be going to Steak and Shake for lunch. he likes it there. Other than that..a quiet day! Will spend the evening with my Ezra (dog) and keep aneye, as he gets startled easily by the fireworks and poppers that create a lot of noise.

Just returned from a 5 day mini baseball tour to Pittsburgh and Cleveland to be able to spend the 4th with old friends at a barbecue. Saw fireworks last night after watching the Cleveland orchestra in a square in the center of the city. Fun!!!
