In the summer, when large Cokes are a $1, it's McDonald's - love that little sting in your throat when you take a big sip - that's my morning cup of coffee. In our little town, we have McD, KFC/Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and Sonic. Sonic is our favorite - popcorn chicken for me, corn dogs for the mister. He wishes we had a Wendy's cause he's likes those square burgers.
I like the chicken strips drenched in barbecue sauce and the coles slaw at KFC. Steak fries are good, too.
We just had a Sonic open a few months ago about a mile away. It is the first one in our area. I couldn't believe the traffic. They needed the police to keep order. Never been to one. I heard that the fruit drinks are really good.
My favorite chain fast food is Arby's. I like the Market Fresh Turkey Swiss sandwich-it is like two meals. I like the mustard type sauce and mayo-the bread is really yummy also.
We also have a little local drive-in(The Pretzel Hut) that has great food and always different flavors of ice cream. They also have soft pretzels!Really good food and great prices,a plus the way the economy is right now.

I'm with you, Thelma. I love the Market Fresh sandwiches. They used to serve a Chicken Ceasar--ooh la la! When they stopped serving that I went to the BLT-excellent. I love the wheat berry bread!
We have a local buffet restaurant where we usually eat----when we eat out. They have the best salad bar I have ever seen and always have grilled sirloin on the buffet. Plus, they have outstanding yeast rolls. Yeah baby!
I never tried the Chicken Ceaser. I make great BLT's at home-we have really good local bacon. We usually do not do the fast food restaurants. We have a few local restaurants that have soup and salad bars-I can make that my meal many times. We also have two Chinese restaurants that have buffet,I enjoy that sometimes also.
I'm getting hungry but I don't do fast food unless traveling or unless I get coupons at the school I work at for Chick-A-Filet...a good fast food that sells only chicken sandwiches, nuggetts, strips, wraps, salads & the best waffle fries & even better 'secret sauce' to dip everything into. They also have the creamiest milkshakes, but I try to stir clear unless sharing one w/Mike. I've noticed a new peach flavor & really want to try that....soon.
I had Chick-A-Filet years ago when I went on buying trips to Atlanta. That was the only thing you could buy at the gift shows. I liked them-I don't think I have ever seen any in our area.
We have the Chick Filet restaurants in our area. We very rarely eat there. I do like them though. Someone at work was telling me that they are closed on Sundays.
my favorite is friendleys .its really not fast food but you can get a meal to go .i love the buffalo chicken .i also like this place called wings over springfield.love the hot wings and dipping sauce. i do not do fast food much anymore because of health issues ,i have to watch my sodium intake. just came back from vacation to cape cod /i cheated on the sodium intake and i am paying for it so its back to the healthy food but reading about all this food is so tempting.i wish we had a sonic .we see tv commercials for it and it looks great,!!!!
Wil goes to school in Hattiesburg, MS-about 70 miles east of Magnolia. Like a dutiful mother, I try to visit him a couple of times a month. Hattiesburg is a large town (for MS) and has EVERY kind of fast, and slow, food restaurant you can think of. Wil lives right behind a McDonald's, on the edge of the USM campus. Needless to say, he has eaten MANY meals at the fast food haven. His garbage can is also filled with Domino's boxes so I can only imagine what his arteries look like. When I visit I try to take him out to eat at a more healthy kind of place, at least somewhere he can get some veggies or a salad. There is this little restaurant called Sweet Peppers, in fact they have two in H'Burg. I believe th Sweet Peppers can be found in MS, LA and AL at this time. They have nothing fried on the menu. Wil hates it. I love it. It is one of my favorite places of all time. It is pretty fast---but not like McDonald or Wendys. They have the absolute best salads and sandwiches. Their bread is made on the premises and is excellent. They have the best tea around and their deserts are outstanding.
Went to visit Wil yesterday and we went to Cucos, a Mexican joint. Had enough fat, sodium and carbs to last for two weeks. Wil was happy!
