Let's be purely selfish, shall we? Name some stuff you'd like to see under the tree this year. I'm hoping some of your wishes will be something I can use as a gift idea for those on my list!
I would really love a Hoosier cabinet for my kitchen-it ain't going to happen, but I can dream! I like body splash and lotions from Bath and Body.Gift cards from your favorite shops are nice!
I really want/need??? a new sewing machine, but I'm not even sure which brand and how many bells and whistles I need.
Just bought 6 pieces of the Friendship collection that goes with the America pattern. Got them from a great lady on my other site. First time I have actually bought myself a gift! That's really all I need this year.
For hostess gifts, I like putting together a basket of all kinds of goodies that you usually wouldn't treat yourself to- could be sweet or salty stuff, coffees, teas, etc... I use all things that do not need to be refrigerated. Sometimes I might include a tea pot, mug, dish, or ornament. Dollar store large cellophane bag and dollar store large bow to decorate it.
I would really like on of those nice kitchen-aid mixers. I bought one for my daughter for her new house and i love it!! My hubbie said i would not use it much. he is probably right but it would look nice in my new kitchen!!!!
I bought myself one a few years ago-my daughter had one and I loved it-I don't use mine a whole lot either, but when I do bake it is wonderful! These guys always have lots of junk they don't use,so why not a nice appliance for us girls,to use occasionally!!
Hey DebbieD - Check the pioneer woman's site - she gives away Kitchen Aid mixers about once a week or so.
Speaking of PW, she's been listing some Christmas gift ideas. One of them was items from www.cakepanlady.com. Really nifty gift for bakers. I ordered one for Mom and Erma. Extra nice and fast shipping.
I have a Hoosier cabinet in my kitchen...have had it since about 1971. Bought it in PA for $45...if you can believe that. It is all original. Love it and wouldn't part with it ever.
I nearly bought one back in the late 70's at a public sale up the street from where we lived-it was even original green and cream colored paint. I collect green wooden handled kitchen utensils-so it was exactly what I could have used. My neighbor and dear friend wanted it as she really needed it for use in her kitchen and I did not bid on it-she bought it for $25.00. We have both since moved, but she still uses it in her dining room,so it is ok!
thanks deb for the tip on the pioneer women website.i really liked it.quite alot of very interesting topics. i will be using that site alot.thanks again !!!
