I have been asked to post the contents of the letter that PACC members received concerning the decision to end the PACC as an official corporation....so here goes:
The officers and board members of PACC have made the decision to end the Pfaltgraff America Collectors Club as an official corporation. This means that we no longer have officers or board members and we no longer collect dues or produce a newsletter.
In recent years it has been difficult to retain and recuit new members as well as members who are willing to take on leadership roles. Since the Pfaltzgraff company was sold, we really lost our connection with them and it was clear that they would not be producing any additional America pieces.
This decision is really bittersweet for all of us. We have enjoyed all the friendships we have built, all the fun we have had sharing our love for our beautiful America pieces and I feel we have achieved all of our goals as a club. Since many of us have built lifelong friendships, we will stay in touch through the message board or through social networking sites such as Facebook. Please note that the message board will still be available.
We are currently waiting for the completion of Debbie Miller's update of the America Book and hope to offer members a copy of the book or at least the book information on CD. If and when the book project is complete we will let everyone know.
I'd like to thank each and every member who has offered their time and talents to building this club by serving as an officer, board member, chairperson, newsletter editor or contributor, convention host, website contributor as well as just being a loyal member over the years. As one of the co-founders of this club, I have always been proud to have helped start the ball rolling and I will always have happy memories of everything we achieved.
Thank you for posting this , I appreciate it. IT is too bad, however, understandable. I am very excited for the new book and look forward to the opportunity to purchase one. I hope to continue to meet America collectors...(even though I am new to this) through here and look forward to it ...from central Massachusetts. Smiles Lynn Sheridan
Thanks! I did receive my letter a while back-it is so sad but understandable! I,too am looking forward to purchasing a copy of the book. Thanks for so many wonderful years!
